Nueva especie de anaconda – nivel 2

Investigadores de la selva tropical de Ecuador descubrieron un nuevo tipo de serpiente: la mayor del mundo, una anaconda verde.
Esta especie se separó de otras serpientes similares hace 10 millones de años, pero su aspecto sigue siendo casi el mismo en la actualidad. El biólogo holandés Freek Vonk compartió un vídeo que mostraba el tamaño de estas serpientes. Pueden medir hasta seis metros de largo y pesar hasta 200 kilogramos.
Los científicos solían pensar que sólo existía un tipo de anaconda verde, pero ahora saben que hay un tipo distinto llamado ‘anaconda verde del norte‘. Este hallazgo nos ayuda a comprender cómo afectan los vertidos de petróleo al mundo natural y a la salud humana.
