El apéndice está en nuestro vientre. Parece un tubo pequeño. Está junto al intestino grueso. El intestino grueso obtiene el agua de los alimentos. Traslada el resto de la comida fuera de nuestro cuerpo.
Los científicos aún no saben por qué tenemos apéndice. Quizá sea un órgano importante para algunos animales. Nosotros evolucionamos a partir de esos animales.
El apéndice sigue estando en nuestro cuerpo. No lo necesitamos. Podemos vivir sin él.
Algunos estudios dicen que el apéndice es importante. En él hay bacterias buenas. Ayudan a digerir los alimentos. Combaten algunas enfermedades.
El apéndice puede fortalecer a las personas. Las personas sin apéndice pueden tener enfermedades más graves.
