El primer ministro de India, Narendra Modi, inauguró recientemente un nuevo templo hindú en Ayodhya. El templo sustituyó a una mezquita demolida hace 30 años.
La ceremonia estuvo llena de rituales y ofrendas, y muchas personas acudieron a verlo. Muchos lo consideran un momento religioso importante. Para ellos simboliza el regreso del Señor Ram. Pero los críticos dicen que Modi planeó el acto cuidadosamente debido a las próximas elecciones. Los obreros deben terminar el templo el año que viene. Las disputas históricas sobre Ayodhya comenzaron hace más de un siglo, y se intensificaron en 1992 con la destrucción de la mezquita. El Tribunal Supremo dijo que era ilegal en 2019, pero concedió el terreno a los hindúes. El acontecimiento provoca muchas emociones, algunos lo celebran pero a otros les trae malos recuerdos.
