El presidente ucraniano Zelenskiy habló en Davos e instó a Occidente a aumentar las sanciones a Rusia y a reforzar el apoyo a Kiev para contrarrestar los esfuerzos bélicos de Moscú.
Expresando su preocupación por las vacilaciones occidentales, subrayó que las ambiciones de Putin se extienden más allá de Ucrania. Zelenskiy rechazó la congelación del conflicto y subrayó la necesidad de una aplicación adecuada de las sanciones, incluso sobre el sector nuclear ruso. Los dirigentes de la UE y la OTAN se hicieron eco de sus preocupaciones, haciendo hincapié en el continuo apoyo militar y financiero a Ucrania.
Zelenskiy destacó la importancia estratégica de ayudar a Kiev, y recibió señales positivas para el apoyo financiero de la UE y esperó la aprobación de la ayuda estadounidense. Instó a la unidad contra la agresión rusa, haciendo hincapié en las implicaciones más amplias más allá de Ucrania.
