El Canal de Panamá conecta dos océanos, el Atlántico y el Pacífico. En 1913, los trabajadores deben inundar el lago Gatún para construir el canal.
El canal es muy importante para el comercio mundial. Por el canal pasan grandes barcos. El canal acorta mucho el camino. Pero hay un problema: no llueve lo suficiente. Este año, el canal tiene muy poca agua. Incluso se pueden ver árboles en el agua. No es habitual. Esto dificulta el paso de los barcos. Tienen que rodear África o Egipto. Lleva más tiempo y dinero.
Este problema empeorará porque en América Central lloverá aún menos en el futuro. Los expertos no saben cómo solucionarlo o si es posible.
