El whisky japonés se está haciendo popular en todo el mundo. Este año se cumplen 100 años de fabricación de whisky en Japón. Ahora hay más de 100 destilerías, el doble que hace diez años. El fuego de cedro de Shizuoka lo hace especial. La fabricación de whisky en Japón se hace famosa después de 2008. En 2015, no hay suficiente whisky para todas las personas y empresas que lo quieren. Esto hace que los precios sean muy altos.
Las grandes empresas como Suntory y Nikka se expanden. También hay nuevas empresas que fabrican whisky. A algunos les preocupa que esto perjudique la calidad del whisky japonés.
