Renault se ha fijado grandes objetivos para sus coches eléctricos. Predicen que Ampere, su unidad eléctrica, ganará mucho dinero: 10.000 millones de euros en 2025 y 25.000 millones de euros en 2031.
La empresa planea vender acciones en 2024, pero es un poco complicado porque no hay mucha gente que quiera coches eléctricos ahora, y hay una dura competencia, especialmente de China. El jefe de Renault, Luca de Meo, dice que Renault tiene dinero suficiente para Ampere, pero que prefieren vender acciones porque les ayuda a crecer más rápido. Pero si no hay suficientes personas que piensen que Ampere vale mucho, no venderán acciones.
Renault también ha fabricado un nuevo coche eléctrico, el Twingo Legend, para competir con los coches chinos asequibles.
