El río Amazonas en Brasil está muy bajo. No llueve lo suficiente en la zona.
Esto está dificultando la vida de las personas y de la naturaleza. Los pequeños ríos que desembocan en el Amazonas también se están secando. Los barcos no pueden circular. La gente de los pueblos lejanos no tiene suficiente comida ni agua. Los barcos no pueden llegar. Los delfines del río también están muriendo porque hace demasiado calor. En la ciudad de Manaus, sólo había 13,59 metros de agua. Son dos metros menos que el año pasado. Es la más baja de los últimos 100 años.
El motivo es un problema meteorológico llamado El Niño. Provoca un tiempo inusual. Los expertos creen que durará hasta diciembre. Más de 481.000 personas tienen problemas.
