China tiene problemas económicos. Estados Unidos y algunos otros países piensan que esto hará que Occidente sea más fuerte que China.

Funcionarios de Washington, Roma, Tokio y otros lugares hablan con los periodistas. Pero no quieren dar sus nombres. Dicen que la historia principal sobre cómo se mueve el dinero en el mundo está cambiando muy deprisa.

Antes, parecía que China se convertiría en la primera potencia económica mundial y que Estados Unidos ya no sería fuerte. Pero ahora las cosas no son tan seguras. En Washington y en otros lugares, la gente está pensando en cómo hacer frente a China. Quizá el país no se debilite todavía, pero probablemente tampoco se fortalezca.
