Científicos de la empresa suiza Tethys Robotics han desarrollado un robot submarino para situaciones peligrosas a las que no pueden acceder los buceadores humanos.
El robot es autónomo y está diseñado para trabajar en entornos difíciles, como ríos con agua sucia. Toma el relevo cuando fallan los métodos normales de búsqueda y rescate.
El robot tiene una batería de litio intercambiable que dura cuatro horas con una sola carga. Pesa 30 kg en el agua y puede desplazarse a una velocidad máxima de 2 metros por segundo. También puede comunicarse a través de un cable de fibra óptica de hasta 10 km de longitud.
