Proyecto de tránsito de Irak – nivel 2

Irak está trabajando en un proyecto de 17.000 millones de dólares denominado “Carretera del Desarrollo”, cuyo objetivo es conectar el puerto de Grand Faw, en el sur, con Turquía.
El objetivo es convertir a Irak en el principal país de tránsito de mercancías. Competirá con el Canal de Suez y acortará el tiempo de viaje entre Asia y Europa. El proyecto incluye planes para trenes de alta velocidad, enlaces con las industrias locales y la posibilidad de oleoductos y gasoductos.
Durante mucho tiempo, el gobierno prometió desarrollar las infraestructuras de Irak, pero siguen estando en mal estado. Los funcionarios son optimistas porque la situación del país es estable en estos momentos, y creen que el proyecto tendrá éxito.
