Los camarotes de primera clase empiezan a parecerse a pequeñas habitaciones de hotel. Incluyen sofás, camas dobles, televisores, escritorios, armarios, minibares y, en algunos casos, incluso duchas.

Las compañías aéreas están invirtiendo dinero en estas mejoras a pesar del lento crecimiento económico y el aumento de los precios de todo. Creen que la gente que no pudo viajar a causa de la pandemia echaba de menos viajar y estará dispuesta a gastar más por una experiencia de vuelo lujosa. Incluso algunos viajeros de ocio están reservando vuelos en clase preferente o primera clase.

La alemana Lufthansa planea invertir 2.700 millones de dólares en mejorar algunos de sus aviones, mientras que Qantas Airways está introduciendo una nueva sección de primera clase. Las compañías aéreas necesitan atraer clientes y recuperarse de las pérdidas económicas que les ha causado la pandemia.
