El Tribunal Supremo de EE.UU. aplazó un bloqueo temporal sobre los límites a la píldora abortiva Mifepristona.

Los tribunales inferiores establecieron los límites, pero el Tribunal Supremo quiso dar a los jueces más tiempo para estudiar las peticiones de bloquear las restricciones. El fabricante del fármaco, Danco Laboratories, y el gobierno de Biden quieren que el tribunal detenga una orden emitida por un tribunal inferior de Texas el 7 de abril. Esta orden restringiría la disponibilidad del fármaco mientras el tribunal resuelve el caso. El gobierno de Biden quiere defender la Mifepristona frente a las prohibiciones y restricciones del aborto impuestas por los estados dirigidos por los republicanos desde 1973.

La mifepristona suele combinarse con otro fármaco, el misoprostol, para realizar abortos farmacológicos, que constituyen más de la mitad de todos los abortos en Estados Unidos.
